I usually can tell what Marc Thiessen will say in his column by the title and first paragraph. Imagine my surprise last week (“‘Blood and soil’ nationalists don’t believe in exceptionalism,” Star-Advertiser, July 3). Thiessen decries “some on the right” who are “dead wrong.” He explains America is not a nation of one ethnicity, and says, “don’t buy into the snake oil of the anti-exceptionalist right.”
