Kokua Line: What about maggots in green carts?

Question: I tried putting food waste loose in the green cart like the city wants but the maggots and flies are so bad. The city says to freeze food scraps and place them in the green cart on pickup day but I don’t have room in my freezer for two weeks worth of garbage. I feel this program is unrealistic. I did try. What is the feedback from others?
