Typhoon Bavi hits eastern China after 1.8 million evacuated

WENZHOU, China >> Typhoon Bavi made landfall late today in the coastal city of Taizhou in eastern China, where nearly 2 million people were evacuated, having earlier pummeled Japan’s southern Sakishima island chain and brushed past northern Taiwan.
