Mother seeks leniency in death of adopted daughter

A 40-year-old former school behavioral health specialist who took a plea deal in the December 2023 child abuse death of Azaeliyah Pili-Ah You, her 11-year-old adopted daughter, filed a motion Tuesday asking the judge to reduce and reconsider her 10-year sentence based on leniency and mercy.
