Letter: U.S. should be taught about Hawaii injustice

As I read Shirlene Ostrov’s commentary, I wondered if Hawaii would have been welcomed at the Great American State Fair under the Freedom 250 committee (“Hawaii should have been there at Great American State Fair,” Star-Advertiser, Island Voices, July 2). The injustices of Hawaii’s 1893 history are unknown to many Americans. Educating people would reveal the truth, but would the current administration acknowledge this history or attempt to erase it?
