State Sen. Jarrett Keohokalole recently shared a story with the Star-Advertiser about an ICE raid that happened on Maui, where agents “kicked down the door of (a) home (and) proceeded to pull out the occupants early in the morning, some of them still in pajamas” (“Hawaii enacts immigrant justice laws amid calls for stronger protections,” July 29). What kind of federal government disrespects human beings and treats people like feral dogs, with no regard for the families left behind who have to suddenly and unexpectedly care for themselves?
