Community-led efforts and government support define Maui wildfire recovery

As Lahaina marked three years since the deadliest U.S. wildfire in more than a century, national disaster recovery expert Jennifer Gray Thompson said the town has become one of the country’s strongest examples of community-led recovery, even as major challenges remain.
