Editorial: Hawaii incumbents come out on top

In this age of nationalized political battles, the old saying “all politics is local” still resonates in Hawaii, judging by the results of Saturday’s primary election. Despite the trend lines showing some anti-establishment voter sentiment across the country, unseating an incumbent is possible but difficult here. Name recognition counts for a lot, which means candidates with the money to get their name out tend to rise to the top.
