Letter: Take leadership to task over Maui officer arrest

The alleged criminal fiasco that recently came to light with the arrest of a Maui police lieutenant by federal authorities is beyond comprehension (“MPD commander allegedly protected drug dealers, cockfighters for cash,” Star-Advertiser, Aug. 7). If true, the biggest blame should be focused on Maui Police Department Chief John Pelletier, the Maui Police Commission and the Maui County Council.
