Editorial: Maui voters will write isle’s future

On Aug. 8, Maui marked the third anniversary of the fire that destroyed Lahaina’s historic district and much of the entire town. Aug. 8 also was primary election day in Hawaii — and with the conjunction of events, Maui’s past, present and future briefly converged.
