Green, Blangiardi mahalo Journey for 52 years of hit music in Hawaii

Gov. Josh Green and Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi shared the Blaisdell Arena concert stage Friday as Blangiardi proclaimed Sept. 5 and 6 a two-day “MAHALO, JOURNEY — FOR 52 YEARS OF ALOHA” celebration in the City &County of Honolulu, and Green did the same for the entire state. Journey guitarist Neal Schon, the through-line member of Journey from the group’s founding in 1973 through the many personnel changes up to the present, thanked Green and Blangiardi for the recognition. He also thanked Journey’s fans for their support.
