Letter: Higher energy rates OK with more accountability

Our Hawaiian Electric bill once averaged about $700 a month for a household of four, plus one tenant. Today, with only two of us and one tenant, our bill routinely exceeds $1,000. Our household shrank, our electric bill didn’t. Yet Hawaiian Electric is asking customers to pay more.
