Column: Hawaii’s employers must engage in healthcare debate

Many voices are participating in today’s healthcare debate. Physicians, hospitals, insurers, regulators, policymakers and elected officials, including Gov. Josh Green, are actively engaged in discussions about rising costs, physician shortages, workforce challenges and the proposed One Health Hawai‘i initiative. Yet one voice seems largely absent: Hawaii’s employers.
