It feels like Punahou School just had its carnival not too long ago, but preparations are already underway for next year’s carnival.
Volunteers spent Saturday at the school’s cafeteria making ‘mango chutney.’
It’s one the most popular items at the carnival, and it usually sells out within hours of the carnival’s opening.
Jill Wheatman, the chair person for Jams and Jellies said, "this year we had so many mangoes and we thought we better take advantage of it and it is the product that everybody comes to the carnival to get."
The goal is to make 9,000 jars of mango chutney for the carnival, which will be held in February.
