WHAT: Prudential Locations’ non-profit organization, The Locations Foundation, will present a total of $20,000 in grants to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hawaii (BBBS) and Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii (BGCH) — each receiving $10,000 to help fund their programs that promote literacy and the arts.
The grants will be presented at a fun “Movie Day” event, where kids from the two organizations get to watch a private screening of The Amazing Spiderman at Consolidated Theatres Ward 16 and enjoy snack packs, goodie bags and other prizes from The Locations Foundation.
WHO: Approximately 10-15 volunteers from The Locations Foundation, Prudential Locations and Wells Fargo; 400 children from BBBS and BGCH and their families and 100 clients and families of Prudential Locations.

8 to 8:45 a.m. — Check in
9:15 a.m. — Fun dance-off and costume contest, then $10,000 check presentations
9:45 a.m. — Entering the movie theater to watch The Amazing Spiderman

DETAILS: To encourage literacy, the children of BBBS and the BGCH are writing an essay titled “Who is your hero and why?” along with thank you letters to soldiers in Iraq. Both organizations will choose three finalists that they feel wrote a great essay and letter. The winners will be revealed at the day of the presentation and given prizes for their efforts. The Locations Foundation is also having a “Hero” costume contest and a “dance-off” to the song “Teach me how to Dougie.” Contestants of the costume and dance contests will also receive prizes. In addition, kids attending the Movie Day Event will receive special goodie bags with unique giveaways, including coupons for McDonald’s, Jamba Juice and Sea Life Park. Finally, The Locations Foundation will be presenting grant checks for $10,000 to each organization to help fund their programs.
