Hurricane Daniel losing strength, new storm forms in the Pacific

Hurricane Daniel is farther out to sea.

Daniel is expected to weaken Sunday as it moves over cooler waters.

But a new storm has formed in the Pacific Ocean south of Mexico. Forecasters expect Tropical Storm Emilia to become a hurricane, but the storm is not expected to threaten land.

Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center in Miami say the storm has maximum sustained winds of 40 mph (64 kph) and is located about 480 miles (772 kilometers) southwest of Acapulco.
