UH to hold meeting to discuss biosafety lab in Kalaeloa

The University of Hawaii will hold a meeting Wednesday night to address public concern over plans to create Hawaii’s largest laboratory for testing biological agents.

The proposed "Pacific Health Research Laboratory" in Kalaeloa would be capable of testing potentially deadly infectious agents. Residents in the area say they don’t want another health hazard in their community.

Meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Kapolei High School cafeteria.
