A mother’s gift of life after tragedy

Hiroyo Klink, the mother who died after a stroke at her son’s soccer game, continues to give the gift of life.

One of her kidneys went to a 31-year-old mother of five in California.

Another kidney went to a 35-year-old woman from Hawaii.

Her lung, to a 54-year-old woman in Oregon, who will no longer be suffering from a terminal lung disease.

And earlier this month, we learned she gave the gift of sight to a Honolulu woman.

"And I found out a lot of recipients go through a lot of psychological challenges with guilt," shared Paul Klink, father of soccer player Leo Klink. "Because they’re carrying  organs from someone who’s passed away. And if any of you are watching, please don’t feel guilty. Feel your feelings, but know you’ve given us the best gift in the world. Our loved one is living on in you."

Hiroyo was rushed to the hospital just before her son, leo, scored the game-winning goal in kalani’s championship game last month.

Leo’s father says he is still playing soccer, and is finishing his senior year.
