Rain impacts felt on Oahu

Be careful if you have to drive Sunday night the roads are wet and we know of at least one accident being blamed on the rain.

The bad weather also affected sporting events.

Sunday afternoon the Rainbow Baseball Team was supposed to take on Gonzaga but Les Murakami Stadium was empty.

"Yeah actually I just walked over here and I saw the sign, and then I just called my friend to not bother coming down because the game was cancelled," said Honolulu resident Aaron Asao.

The Rainbow Wahine Softball Team was also supposed to play Sunday afternoon taking on Portland State and East Carolina in a double header but those games were also rained out.

"And we were going to go check that out after baseball, but I guess the whole place is closed up over there," said Asao.

UH says the games won’t be made up and if you had tickets. You can either use them for another game or get your money back.

The bad weather also made driving a challenge with bad visibility, puddling and slick roads.

Police say that red pickup truck, which you can sort of see behind the fire truck spun out on the wet Moanalua Freeway this morning.

No one was injured but it did back up traffic for about a half hour.

And keep those umbrellas handy.

"We expect Oahu thru tomorrow to have good chance of showers and the shower activity will spread onto the Big island on Tuesday," said Henry Lau, National Weather Service.

"This is still considered the winter season, the wet season for the state of Hawaii," said Lau.
