Alaska Air Group charts new course for Hawaii with bigger interisland jets, cargo expansion

As Alaska Air Group pushes toward its goal of generating $1 billion in profit from its Hawaiian Airlines acquisition, the company unveiled plans Tuesday to replace Hawaiian’s aging interisland fleet with Boeing 737-800s beginning in 2028 and nearly double its cargo aircraft capacity by 2027.
