APEC protestors rally at UH

A small group of APEC protestors spread their anti-globalization message throughout the UH Manoa campus on Wednesday.

Protestors marched from McCarthy Mall to the front of the school on Dole Street, where they placed masking tape on an APEC welcome sign.

"The kinds of policies APEC is producing increases unemployment, it increases poverty, it increases environmental degradation. This is antithetical to what most of the students, faculty and staff want to welcome," said Nandita Sharma, UH sociology professor.

The demonstrators say they are opposed to the UH Manoa Campus being used as a promotional tool for APEC policies.
