Honolulu police have opened an arson investigation after a commercial shark tour boat caught fire Thursday night.
It happened around 11:30 p.m. at the Haleiwa Boat Harbor.
Police say a 35 foot commercial shark tour boat was on fire. Another 40 foot private vessel next to it also sustained heat damage.
No one was injured. Damage to both boats are estimated around $120,000.
This is the third incident where a commercial shark tour boat was deliberately set on fire.
In January, two baots with the “North Shore Shark Adventures” were set on fire and destroyed.
If you have any information on these cases, call Honolulu police.
