Column: A dynamic solution to doctor shortage

As an internal medicine physician and chief medical officer at Hawaii Medical Service Association (HMSA), I care deeply about healthcare access in Hawaii. Last Sunday’s Star-Advertiser story on the state’s doctor shortage was a painful reminder that this problem is not new, and that it’s getting harder to ignore (“Patients frustrated as crisis worsens on Oahu,” Sept. 6).
