Column: Ding-Dong! Implausible RCP8.5 climate scenario dead

In April, the United Nations (UN) committee of jurisdiction threw out the most extreme global climate change projections generated by the scenario labeled “RCP8.5,” judging it “implausible” and rendering it obsolete. Representative Concentration Pathway 8.5 was a high-emissions, worst-case climate scenario.
