According to the 2026 Hawaii Quality of Life and Well-Being survey from the University of Hawaii, nearly half of Hawaii residents considered moving out of state in the past year. Full confession: I am one of them. I love Hawaii with every fiber of my being, and I’ve known no other home. But I’m not sure how long I’ll be able to afford to stay.
