Column: Mainland ties cloud proposed healthcare alliance

The public campaign from HMSA and Hawaii Pacific Health has been hard to miss, extolling One Health Hawai‘i and promising local governance, coordination, choice and sustainability. Reassurance by repetition is still not public review, especially when One Health Hawai‘i would involve Hawaii’s dominant insurer, a major hospital system and a mainland technology structure tied to Blue Shield of California’s parent organization, Ascendiun.
