Column: Rule of law enables pursuit of the ‘American dream’

Every year on May 1 we celebrate Law Day and the importance of the rule of law in protecting the shared values and fundamental rights enshrined in the United States and Hawaii Constitutions. This year’s theme, “The Rule of Law and the American dream,” is an opportunity to reflect on the promise of the “American dream,” and how we can safeguard it for generations to come.
