October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, now in its 80th year. This year’s theme, “Celebrating Value and Talent,” recognizes the contributions of workers with disabilities and the workplace practices that help teams succeed. In Hawaii, many qualified residents still face hurdles to steady work, even as businesses look for reliable staff. Those hurdles often stem from the fear of hiring, training, scheduling and supervision.
