Column: We took Hawaii to court. Now we’re helping build its future

When you’re young, you assume you have no power. No sway in the world. No voice. I had spent years watching the climate crisis ravage the ocean’s ecosystems and wildlife. I’d lived through climate- change-induced storms and heat waves. I wanted change, but felt unable to find a way to create it. What I didn’t know was that there were other young people who felt the exact same way.
