Displaced Lahaina residents hope jobs will provide a way home

LAHAINA, Maui >> As employers pitched job openings to residents inside Lahaina Cannery Mall on Friday, Argee Buduan walked from booth to booth with a stack of resumes, hoping to find a job that would help her continue rebuilding her life after losing her home in the Aug. 8, 2023, wildfire that killed 102 people and caused an estimated $5.7 billion in property damage.
