It has also made the support of my passion for music possible. Now, through my hard work and the support from EAH Housing Scholarship Fund, I’m able to follow my dream of going to college and someday working in the business field and music industry," said Kukui Gardens resident Lu, Ssu-Chieh (Esther), Business Major at the University of San Francisco. EAH Housing provides an affordable place to call home for more than 7,000 children and teenagers, with a total resident count of over 20,000. The Scholarship Fund is designed to ensure long term success for students. Throughout the course of their college education, scholarship recipients will receive annual awards. Unlike one-time grants, these ongoing scholarships will continue to open doors for students as they shape their futures.
"Far too often students with limitless potential are stopped short by financial barriers. The EAH Housing Scholarship Fund is another commitment in our unwavering effort to expand access to the American Dream through the creation of healthy communities, providing affordable housing and now a pathway to higher education," said EAH Housing President and CEO Mary Murtagh. The scholarship fund was established with generous donations from the late affordable housing advocate Rebecca Wood Watkin, the EAH Board of Directors, and numerous EAH donors.

Calpito, resident of Mililani, HI, attending University of Hawaii Monoa · Jennifer In, resident of Honolulu, HI, attending Northern University of Arizona · Yueshi Lin, resident of Honolulu, HI, attending Creighton University · Lu, Ssu-Chieh, resident of Honolulu, HI, attending University of San Francisco · Weon Yuan, resident of Honolulu, HI, attending Marist College EAH Housing Scholarship Fund awardees underwent a highly competitive application process that took into account previous academic performance, included a descriptive personal writing requirement, multiple letters of recommendation, and an interview.
You too can help these students achieve their dreams of attending college. All gifts made to the EAH Housing Scholarship fund before September 1st will be matched 2 to 1. For example, a gift of $500 will be matched twice, to provide a $1,500 scholarship for an EAH student.
Established in 1968, EAH Housing is one of the oldest and most respected nonprofit developers and managers in the western United States. EAH has developed over 6,500 homes and manages 97 properties that serve working families, students and seniors in 43 municipalities throughout California and Hawaii.
