Editorial: Accelerate actions against Medicaid fraud

If this was an effort to get Hawaii’s attention, it worked. The federal government last week alerted state authorities that Hawaii’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit has been decertified, meaning that it would lose the $3 million in annual federal dollars that pays for its operation.
