Editorial: An apt celebration of native culture

The cultural resurgence known as the “Hawaiian Renaissance” is roughly a half-century old in the islands. But it took until 2023 for Hawaii to make Indigenous Peoples’ Day an official observance falling on the second Monday of each October.
