Editorial: Anti-nepotism bills lift up government

Government corruption, or at least misconduct on a significant or widespread scale, seems relatively uncommon in the islands. Cases of bribery or graft, for example, are typically few and far between, and when such dealings do come to light, they are met with appropriate shock and disdain. That is a good thing; political misdeeds certainly have no place in a state so heavily dependent on government leadership and whose representatives boast uniquely close ties to the community.
