Editorial: Ensure Skyline TOD is done right

Like a giant complex jigsaw puzzle, the property pieces are starting to come together to create Oahu’s transformative Iwilei-Kapalama district around the Skyline rail system — and it’s exciting to see. Monday’s city announcement that it had just closed on a $2.7 million purchase for a 4-acre parcel at 519 Kaaahi Street gets government closer to the transit-oriented development (TOD) that’s been long promised to benefit Hawaii’s hard-working residents and kamaaina families.
