Across Hawaii, a variety of taxes are being held up for a long-overdue re-examination. Governments are seeking out ways to lessen the burden on working-class and middle-class residents, as it’s clear that this majority is approaching a breaking point, at which the cost of living in the islands is no longer tenable.
