Wherever one falls on the political spectrum, the shooting death of U.S. citizen and ICU nurse Alex Pretti by a swarm of immigration enforcement agents at a Minneapolis protest is a national tragedy. Pretti’s death symbolizes all that has gone terribly wrong with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement surge that originally, maybe even palatably, was billed as a purge of the “worst of the worst” from U.S. soil.
