The stunning fall from political grace for Lt. Gov. Sylvia Luke is sure to churn Hawaii’s electoral waters this fall — turning a relatively sedate season of reelection into a competitive jockeying to become Hawaii’s No. 2. Luke announced Sunday that she would not seek reelection, still under a serious cloud as the state Attorney General’s Office investigates the mysterious circumstances surrounding “$35,000 in a paper bag” allegedly accepted by an unnamed politician four years ago.
