Editorial: More traffic cams, fewer scofflaws

The governor has before him a bill that will greatly expand Oahu’s automated traffic monitoring camera system, a program devised to crack down on red light runners and speeders in the island’s most congested — and vulnerable — areas. Senate Bill 3157 is one prong of a wide-ranging effort to cut down on traffic accidents, injuries and fatalities, and with traffic deaths down by half as of April, something is working. Green would be wise to keep that momentum moving forward.
