Editorial: Post salary fiasco, time for a change

For the third time in three election cycles, Honolulu City Council Chair Tommy Waters faces former Council member Trevor Ozawa in a primary battle to represent District 4, the lone seat in contention this August. For Waikiki-to-Hawaii Kai voters who recall the Council’s pay raise controversy in 2023, in which Waters played a key role toward adoption, the choice favors Ozawa, an experienced and fiscally conscious candidate.
