Ex-city worker in food bank case is ‘not a thief,’ attorney says

A former city employee who allegedly enticed the Hawai‘i Foodbank to buy and distribute $800,000 worth of food that he claimed would be reimbursed has received nothing in exchange and was “trying to do his job to the best of his ability,” his attorney contends.
