Governor assures, Pro Bowl will stay in Hawaii

With uncertainty over the Pro Bowl’s future in Hawaii, Governor Abercrombie made an unscheduled appearance at a news conference today with NFL officials.

He said the state is in talks with the NFL to continue bringing the Pro Bowl to Hawaii, and says the state is going to do everything it can to make that happen.

"Despite some stories to the contrary the relationship is solid and we hope it’s going to stay that way and for the benefit of everybody."

Last June at a news conference on early childhood education, the governor questioned spending $4 million to lure the Pro Bowl back to Hawaii.
