Hawai‘i Opera Theatre fixture had starring roles on- and offstage

Jamie Offenbach, the classically trained bass-baritone vocalist and artistic director of Hawai‘i Opera Theatre who created the innovative Studio101 program that brought new audiences to the company, died July 10 in Honolulu. He was 62.
