Hawaii solar installations soar but industry faces ‘disruption’

Hawaiian Electric said Tuesday that almost half of all Oahu single-­family homes have been outfitted with rooftop solar systems — even as Hawaii’s solar industry faces a rocky, uncertain future with federal solar tax credits expiring at the end of the year.
