HHSAA Hall of Honor: Layden Kauka, Kohala (basketball, volleyball)

The Star-Advertiser All-State player of the year in boys basketball was a three-time Fab 15 selection. He led Kohala in scoring as a freshman, when the Cowboys won the Division II state title, and again as a sophomore as they repeated. He took a journey to Utah Prep as a junior, returned late in the season after a coaching change there, but suffered an ankle injury at the state tournament.
