High surf warning in effect as king tides threaten coastal flooding

A high surf warning remains in effect for south-facing shores across the Hawaiian Islands through 6 a.m. Tuesday, as a large south-southwest swell combines with king tides to produce dangerous surf, significant wave run-up and an increased risk of coastal flooding, according to the National Weather Service.
