The 31st state Legislature adjourned Thursday and forwarded over 200 bills to Gov. David Ige, including ones that would make it illegal to capture or kill sharks, require state departments to identify facilities that are vulnerable to sea level rise and allow advanced practice registered nurses to perform abortions. Ige has until June 21 to announce which bills, if any, he plans to veto. Legislators voted down bills to permit recreational use of cannabis and decriminalize the use of psychedelic mushrooms, require counties to seek reimbursement from hikers who veer from permitted trails and have to be rescued, and limit so-called “no-knock warrants” by law enforcement.
