The Kahala post office is just a signature away from getting a new name.
The U.S. senate unanimously agreed to rename the post office on Pahoa Avenue after former Hawaii congressman Cec Heftel.
The resolution was sponsored in the house by congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa, and now goes to President Obama’s desk.
Hanabusa says it’s a proper way to honor the tremendous career of the lawmaker, businessman and media mogul, who died last year.
