Kauai Coldwell Banker shifts televised programming to internet

After 20 years of broadcasting real estate topics on Kauai‘s Oceanic Time Warner Cable channel 10, Bali Hai Coldwell Banker is shifting to Internet-based broadcasting effective October 17th.  The switch will extend Bali Hai’s television programming to worldwide audiences.

According to Michael Schmidt, principal broker for Bali Hai Realty, "This change allows us to broadcast through any browser platform, including Internet compatible television, computers, mobile phones and Roku TV box members. It’s much more dynamic and direct."

The real estate agency has been televising a blend of community, lifestyle, real estate information and property listings on channel 10.

In the future video content will continue to highlight the same features and be broadcast online through Hawaii Stream, a live video production company based in Kapaa. Bali Hai Realty’s website, http://balihai.com will carry the broadcast as well.

Hawaii Stream’s co-owner, Chris Jensen, points out that switching to the Internet platform provides capacity to instantly update content with new property information or evolving community features. He says, "This is a huge advantage for content providers, providing both cost savings and expediency."  Typically, locally televised content is filmed, edited and loaded into programming at periodic intervals whereas Internet-based broadcasts are uploaded and streamed live into the Internet within minutes. Production will be provided by Dot to Dot, a film production company based in Kilauea.
