Question: I must give big kudos to Safeway Kapahulu for making car registration renewal so easy. I was in and out in under one minute. I have a question, though. Why does the city charge a credit card fee and also a service charge in addition to the vehicle registration fee? The city is the only place where I use my credit card that does this. … I think it’s especially wrong because at the kiosks I can only use my credit card. I feel that with inflation and the cost of everything rising, the city should not add on these additional fees. … They can really add up and nowhere else do I see these fees added to online services. … Is there a way we can pay without incurring these charges?
